These positions are being filled utilizing the Direct Hire Authority allow for appointment of qualified candidates possessing a bachelor or an advanced degree to professional scientific and engineering positions within The US Army Combat Capability Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC).

Job Description:

The Quality Engineering (QE) Division of the Systems Readiness Directorate (SRD) is looking for Engineer(s) to support development, fielding, and/or sustainment of Aviation and Missile weapons systems. The primary purpose of this position is to provide specialized quality engineering technical support to Department of Defense weapon systems materiel developers.

Duties:

The incumbent Engineer(s) are responsible for providing QE technical support to Aviation and Missile weapons systems throughout their lifecycle. Engineer(s) will assist in managing technical QE efforts with other government offices/agencies and contractors and are responsible for identifying / defining program goals and working within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve these goals. Other duties may include QE requirements development, establishment of product baseline, oversight and management of the contractor’s quality management system, product acceptance system development and management, determination of root cause and corrective actions, contract proposal evaluation, acceptance of government purchased product, and execution of supplier quality management techniques. Candidates should have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.

This is an entry-level position. Therefore no specific specialized experience is required.  An engineering degree from an ABET Accredited University is required.  Desirable degrees include Industrial/Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering; however, all Engineering disciplines will be considered.  CO-OP or other relevant professional work experience is a plus.
