Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Planning, organizing, and directing extensive development efforts for broad programs of applied research and development.
  • Assignments are of fundamental significance in executing overall agency research and development goals and missions.
  • Ability to translate user requirements into technical objectives pursuant to the design, development, operational qualification and field support of AI solutions to material and non-material Army combat systems throughout their life cycles.
  • Interfacing with Program Managers during planning and execution while adjusting resources, schedules and objectives to achieve program requirements.
  • Ability to function in an interdisciplinary environment to coordinate the definition, planning and execution of system requirements to achieve a balanced technical solution.
  • Serves as the most senior experts in planning, organizing, and directing extensive development efforts for broad programs of applied research and development.
  • Development efforts are of such scope and complexity that S and E apply an interdisciplinary system engineering approach to design, manage, and coordinate the project or program.
  • Work is characterized by highly complex programs that require extensive systems integration and resolution of challenging problems for which precedents are lacking in areas critical to the overall development effort or program.
