#AFC - Army Applications Laboratory (AAL) is hiring a Senior Entrepreneur in Residence, GS-1101-14 in Austin, Texas. The individual will serve as the Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) provides guidance, direction and coaching in partnership with venture capitalist, incubators, small businesses, prime contractors, and nonprofit organizations. The position is within the Headquarters, Army Futures Command (AFC) and Army Applications Lab (AAL). The incumbent advises the Director of AAL on all strategic and technical issues concern the implementation of Entrepreneur in Residence Program.

In this role the Senior Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) will lead a targeted effort of creative marketing and commercial outreach in support of lab priorities; design and shape the experience for the 90+ AAL portfolio companies; and represent AAL to industry at conferences and events focused on the non-standard community. In addition, this individual will serve as the Director of Corporate Ventures/Deputy Director of Insights and Analysis. They will lead and prioritize the work of the Corporate Ventures team, lead engagement with other DOD and government innovation organizations and in conjunction with the Director of Insights and Analysis assist the lab in strategic planning and development of new initiatives.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for bringing commercial expertise into the Army Applications Lab, and will serve as the primary advisor to Director, Army Applications Lab and other team members on all private sector related matters.

(1) Working with project managers and the communications team

(2) Responsibility for developing and managing AAL’s network of non-standard solvers in support of AAL’s major focus areas

(3) Identifying opportunities and representing AAL at industry events and conferences geared at non-standard companies

(4) Assisting AAL leadership in planning and executing events for non-standard industry partners.

  • Responsible for overall coordination and development of the Army Applications Lab (AAL)entrepreneur development program for 90+ companies.
  • Responsible for assisting the Director, Insights and Analysis in running day to day actives of the team and long-term strategic planning for the lab.

To qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below:

One year of specialized experience, mastery of advanced knowledge in the areas of business development with special emphasis on startup concepts and venture capital. Applies this knowledge to develop innovative and creative solutions to create initiatives affecting the warfighters, program effectiveness and/or the improvement of AAL strategic plan. Build complex interrelationships to advance the interest of AFC and AAL. Mastery of knowledge in analytical and evaluation methods to adapt appropriate methods to forge new partnership or approaches to address unique problems or challenges which may have broad program and/or business operation application.
