The U.S. Army DEVCOM Soldier Center located in Natick, MA has an immediate opening for an entry level Electrical Engineer to work full-time in the Soldier Effectiveness Directorate.  This is a Term appointment not to exceed 2 years and may be renewed.

As an entry level electrical engineer, you will provide support to the Advanced Soldier & Small Unit Equipment Team.  As experience is gained, duties will increase in complexity.  The full performance level for this position is a DB-03 (GS-12 equivalent). Soldier Center participates in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Demonstration Project (PDP).  The DB-02 pay band is equivalent to GS- 5 step 1 through GS-11 step 10. The full performance level of the position is a DB-03, equivalent to GS-12 step 1 to GS-14 step 10 level.

The ideal candidate will have experience which includes assisting in the design and development of electrical engineered devices, equipment or systems using established criteria or specifications; or, assisting in the inspection and evaluation of electrical engineered projects and resources; or, assisting in identifying electrical engineering problems and recommending corrective action. Any experience with power and energy efforts is a plus.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

 
Duties include, but not limited to the following:
  • Assisting senior staff in developing and executing plans for testing and evaluating innovative products designed for Soldiers
  • Using a wide varitey of standard test and measurement equipment (e.g., multi-meters, temperature sensors, data acquisition systems) in the lab and in the field
  • Assisting engineers in the design and development of electrical engineered devices, equipment or systems using established criteria or specifications
  • Assisting with the inspection and evaluation of electrical engineered projects and resources
  • Identifying electrical engineering problems and recommending corrective action
