DEVCOM-ARL is seeking 3 student interns (Master's and PhD degree students) for Summer 2022. Students will be supporting the Weapons and Materials Research Directorate (WMRD) and will be involved in research projects in aerodynamics, flight dynamics/controls, and Range experimentation for Army-relevant research on high-speed guided weapons and long-range precision fires. Students will be recruited through the STEM Student Employment Program (SSEP).
Seeking Master's and PhD Degree students in the following fields:

Duration: 12-15 weeks

Job Duties/Responsibilities
Students may be involved in the following activities:
1. Study the complex flow phenomena surrounding Army-relevant projectiles
2. Study the dynamic response of a these projectiles to aerodynamic forces and moments
3. Develop control systems to enable maneuver and augment projectile stability
4. Help improve analysis techniques, instrumentation, and equipment to expand range experimentation capabilities.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
-Experience with research on Aerodynamics, Flight Dynamics, Control Systems, and Flight Control
-Some proficiency in Matlab, Simulink, and Solidworks
