The Professional, Administrative, Assistant, Clerical and Technician Student Employment Program (PAACTSEP) direct hiring authority provides an opportunity for students to gain practical job skills while working with or understanding the guidance of experienced personnel focused on Business, Administrative and Office Support, Human Resources, Contracting and Finance support for AFC. This student authority allows for the noncompetitive conversion to competitive service.
Students may be appointed to a temporary or a flexible length student term appointment with a full-time or part-time work schedule. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent position at the discretion of AFC.
A travel allowance may be offered.
Pay setting rules and regulations will be applied based upon levels of experience and/or education. Locality pay will be determined by location. Under the DB-1 grade level, salary could range from $26,381 to $47,229, Austin, TX Locality.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- U.S. Citizenship and at least 18 years of age
- This position has an education requirement. You MUST provide transcripts or an Official Letter of Enrollment to support your educational claims. An accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education must accredit education.
- Have a 3.0 GPA at the time of application.
- Be enrolled/accepted for enrollment in an undergraduate program leading to an appropriate degree.
- Be enrolled/accepted for enrollment in a 2-year program designed specifically for transfer to a 4-year institution under the same criteria listed above.
- Appointment may be subject to suitability or fitness determination, as determined by completed background investigation.
- Interns may work either part- or full-time.
- Must sign a Participant Agreement
- Although not guaranteed, you must have a 3.0 GPA to convert to a permanent position.
