Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Serves as Congressional Affairs Specialist (Budget Liaison) for the U.S. Army Futures Command (AFC), Nation Capital Region (NCR) Element.
- Responsible for coordinating matters that may or have become the subject of congressional interest, inquiry, or investigation.
- Support and implement the AFC congressional affairs action plan that effectively supports the Army and AFC priorities and goals.
- Continuously analyzes the Army, and AFC programs, plans, and current problems to determine specific areas where congressional inquiry or investigation will have a favorable or unfavorable impact on the AFC.
- Coordinates with the Office of the Chief, Legislative Liaison, Secretary of the Army, Financial Management and Comptroller - Budget Liaison Office, legislative liaison staff at AFC.
- Assists the Chief and Deputy, AFC NCR Element in developing strategies for AFC to comply with the legislative aspects of Department of the Army policies, plans, and programs, ensuring the objectives of the Army's legislative mission are met.
- Prepares a variety of correspondence and reports such as position papers, fact sheets, Inserts For the Record, Questions For the Record, testimony, and letters to Members of Congress or congressional committees.
