Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Security Specialist for the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) with a multi-discipline focus.
  • Incumbent may serve as the DEVCOM Mission Partner Affiliation Sponsor (MPAS), Foreign Disclosure Officer (FDO), and the commands General Service Administration (GSA) Safe Inspector.
  • As a DEVCOM Security Manager, incumbent administers all facets of assigned programs to include inspections/staff assistance visits, assessments, surveys, annual training, personnel vetting, policy development, and the sharing of best practices.
  • Administers DEVCOM security programs in the areas of Information, Industrial and Personnel Security.
  • Ensures all classified material is reviewed, downgraded, destroyed, and kept to a minimum in accordance with appropriate regulations and directives.
  • Participates as an inspection team member to fulfill the requirements of the DEVCOM Organizational Inspection Program.
  • Responsible for the Security, Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA) program for the command, and assists with various collateral security programs within the division.
  • Leads quarterly Information/Industrial and Personnel Security Working Groups with counterparts in the DEVCOM Centers/Lab.
  • Produces inspection reports and monitors corrective actions until completion. Briefs leadership on all inspection findings. Uses the inspection as an opportunity to teach and train.
