About the Position: Acts as the Army Futures Command Liaison for Science and Technology. Facilities communication between AFC, DEVCOM HQ, and the Head of Land Component (HLC) for the Australian Army. Serves as the bridge, connecting and coordinating efforts to ensure smooth integration and efficient decision-making. Look for basic research opportunities focused on international collaboration in scientific research and technology development, opportunities that potentially close capability gaps.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for AFC within Australia, attend meetings, maintain communication records, identify and solve communication issues and develop healthy professional relationships.
  • Identify issues in communication and coordination between AFC and HLC and create solutions for overcoming challenges.
  • Serves as expert advisors and consultants responsible for planning and integrating the research and exploratory development technology base programs for an assigned directorate or organization.
  • Study, develop and maintain knowledge of advances in state-of-the-art technologies.
  • Involving the design, development, commission, manufacture, operation, maintenance, and disposal of devices and systems and their equipment and/or components.
  • Identify necessary daily and special briefings to attend and establishing a schedule for reporting information and situational updates between AFC and Australia organizations.
  • Be prepared to brief the Australian Army leadership and the AFC Forward Element Director for the Indo-Pacific on capabilities, limitations, and present locations of major test and integration events.
  • Identify research goals, establish methods and set budgets for the research.
  • Synthesize complex system or concepts and communicate in terms that are easily understood by AFC and multinational partners.
  • Liaison duties will consume 75% of daily duties, while research duties will consume 25%.
