      DEVCOM is searching for an experienced Information Technologist for our Chief Information Officer position located in Aberdeen, MD to lead our team in policy and planning initiatives. 

       

       

       

  • Job Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Responsibilities:

       

      1. This position serves as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for DEVCOM.
      2. Directly responsible to Command Leadership Team to serve as senior advisor, provide support and oversight to DEVCOM enterprise information architecture and integrated IT systems.
      3. The CIO directly makes recommendations regarding compliance to senior military officers and civilian officials in national strategy, security policy, and resource management.
      4. The CIO serves as the Command’s central authority in the development of guidelines for information strategy, management and implementation of policies.
      5. Review higher authority directives that require management decision and has authority to make major decisions regarding policy and procedures relating to the development of systems/programs, which have a direct effect on DEVCOM missions.
      6. Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
      7. Represent Command in working groups, technical discussions and high visibility engagements at the federal department and agency level
      8. Execute portfolio management, governance, and enterprise architecture processes in accordance with Department of the Army guidance.
      9. Performs the full range of supervisory and managerial functions.

       

      Qualifications:

      1. Serving as authoritative expert in the areas of Information Technology (IT), Capital Planning, and Investment Controls to effectuate IT portfolio management programs for organization's systems
      2. Developing IT policies and strategic direction that affect the IT life-cycle management, strategic planning, investment management and performance management
      3. Analyzing and managing the IT framework to align strategies, plans and systems with the mission, goals, structure, processes as it relates to Information Technology policies, capital planning and investment control
      4. Performing supervisory and personnel management responsibilities (e.g. plan and assign work, oversee employees' performance, identify development and training needs, resolve complaints, and recommend personnel actions).
      5. Ability to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment

       

      Desired Qualifications:

      1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a closely related discipline
      2. Relevant information technology certifications

      • Business travel (TDY) may be required up to 25% of the time.
