The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Soldier Center has an immediate opening for a Supply Management Specialist, DE-2003-02 to join our team in Natick, MA. This is a full-time Modified Term appointment not to exceed 2 years and may be extended up to 6 years or converted to permanent.
The DEVCOM Soldier Center is a Customer-Driven, Customer-Focused organization, and is internationally known as a preeminent provider of research, development, engineering, and integration services in the areas of soldier and squad protection and systems integration, military rations and field feeding equipment, military parachuting and airdrop systems, and expeditionary basing. Through our research in areas such as materials sciences, biochemistry, human performance, and human sciences; technology development and integration; and systems engineering, product development and support, the DEVCOM Soldier Center plays a vital role in maximizing the effectiveness of America's military. This position is part of DEVCOM Soldier Center's Soldier Sustainment Directorate (SSD). DEVCOM Soldier Center participates in a Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Personnel Management Demonstration Project. Commonly referred to as Lab Demo, this position is in the DE-02 pay band (equivalent to a GS-05 step 1, through GS-11 step 10 grade level). Salary will be determined upon selection. Management has requested to use Direct Hire Authority (DHA) Solicitation (STRL Mission Support) to fill this vacancy.
Series Definition: 2003 - Supply Program Management Series
This series includes positions that involve: (1) managment, direction, or administration of a supply program that includes a mixture of technical supply functions; or (2) staff managerial, or administrative work primarily concerned with analyzing, developing, evaluating, or promoting improvements in the policies, plans, methods, procedures, systems, or techniques of a supply program.
The ideal candidate should have excellent computer skills (e.g., Excel and Adobe) and possess the critical skills below:
- Understanding of Turn-in System and forms
- Understanding of executing Materials Handling
- Understanding and excuting Materials
- Understanding of shipping (forms, tracking, coordination (pickup and drop off)
- Understanding of logistics as it pertains to an installation
- Familiarity of the Logistical Life Cycle
